Employer of the year award

employer of the year awardThe Richmond Education Business Partnership's employer of the year award award is given to a local employer who has demonstrated a high commitment to local students by helping to prepare them for adulthood and employability.

Criteria for the award includes:

Providing meaningful work experience placements

Providing extended work experience placements

Working with schools on a variety of work related learning activities

Providing professional development days for teachers

Being nominated by a local secondary school

 

2009

central depotThe borough's Central Depot was awarded 'Employer of the Year' in 2009. The depot have been extremly supportive of work exprience this year and have offered placements to 15 students including students on extended work experience and young people currently not in education, employment or training.

 

 

 

Lensbury CLub2008

The Lensbury Club at Teddington Lock were awarded with the Employer of the Year certificate for their efforts in supporting numerous REBP programmes. This year Lensbury have provided work experience placements for 15 Students as well as a Young Apprentice in the Gym one day a week, an extended work experience placement in the catering department, professional development placements for sports lecturers at Richmond upon Thames College.

REBP look forward to working with Lensbury on the Diploma qualifications when they begin in the borough

Richmond Education Business Partnership (REBP) paid tribute to Mr Robert Reynolds of Church Road Garage, Barnes when Michael Daraz , Operations manager of the partnership presented him with their “Employer of the Year” award.  Mr Reynolds who has been an active partner of the REBP for a number of years said ” The work experience programme is an excellent way of introducing young people to the world of work.  The extra responsibilities the workplace brings can only be realised by actually doing the job.  I am looking forward to taking more pupils from next year’s programme ”.   Mr Reynolds currently employs two members of staff at Church Road Garage who are ex work experience students.

Marks and Spencer Twickenham were awarded the first 'Employer of the Year' award for their support of REBP's Activities. Having only started working with REBP in 2005 they immediately began to help in a variety of ways. Initially by setting up a work experience programme and then by sponsoring the REBP Engineering Challenge two years running.
